In today’s world, custom photo frames aren’t just accessible at your local frame shop — these can also be fulfilled online! You can order customized photo frames from the comfort of your own home and send them to any destination, even if it’s meant to be a gift for a loved one delivered across the country. In fact, there are a number of advantages to framing photos online, especially the ability to preview your photo in a variety of frames before you buy.
We checked out eight different websites to find the best online photo framing companies. In efforts not to bury the lead, we think the top three companies are Frameology, Keepsake, and Framebridge. Read on to find out why.
Our Top Pick for the Best Custom Frames Online
When searching for the best online photo printing and framing companies, there are five factors we looked for:
Easy-to-use platform
Selection of product offerings
Turnaround time
Quality of the finished product
Ability to send a gift note
Based on these five categories, three online framing companies fit the bill to meet most of our needs. Check out our #1 top pick along with two runners-up below!

Frameology
After trying out eight different companies, Frameology turned out to be the best place to buy custom picture frames online. Their platform was extremely easy to use with a wide range of sizes for each product. In terms of their selection of product offerings, they have fewer frame options than most of their competitors — although this could also be seen as a plus for people who want to reduce analysis paralysis while shopping for a frame. They do also offer other frameless products like glass prints, metal prints, and acrylic blocks if you’re going for a more minimalist approach. We placed an order on a Thursday and it was delivered before the following Monday afternoon, so it shipped in four days (including the weekend) which makes it an amazing option for last-minute gifts!
We also came across one unique feature on Frameology if you’re shopping on mobile: you can select “view it in your room” for any product and visualize any frame on a blank wall of your choice! It’s really easy to use and solves the pain point of figuring out if a product will fit the vibe of your space, even if you’re ordering online. Other big brands like Target have offered this for their furniture products and it’s pretty cool to see frame companies like Frameology providing this option for customers. We ended up ordering their 8x10 Luxe wall frame in black and it was perfect. 10/10 experience if you ask us!
Pros:
Extremely fast turnaround time
High quality frames at a very affordable price
Can send a gift note via email or SMS
Cons:
Smaller selection of frame styles
The Runners-Up for Best Online Photo Printing and Framing Companies
In the spirit of providing options, Keepsake and Framebridge were two other companies that offered a great frame shopping experience.
Keepsake
We tried out Keepsake’s app and absolutely loved its ease of use! For any mobile-first shoppers who want to upload photos directly from their phone, this company is a wonderful choice. Their app (available for Apple iOS or Google Play) is definitely more user-friendly than their website, so we placed an order straight from mobile. What’s helpful is if your image doesn’t meet the printing standards, a pop-up will immediately notify you that a higher resolution is required to avoid a mis-print. They have a variety of products at extremely reasonable prices and we received our order within five business days! Love how the 8x10 Melody frame we ordered turned out overall.
Pros:
App is very easy to use for uploading straight from your phone
Wide selection of products
Can add a gift note with its own image
Cons:
Website isn’t as user-friendly as app
Doesn’t have bigger sizes
Slower delivery time than our #1 pick
Framebridge
The great thing about Framebridge is that they aren’t just an online framing company — in addition to their online store, they have physical stores in some U.S. states, so you can see the quality of the frames in person. Hopefully they’ll open brick-and-mortar locations on the West Coast too, because most of their stores are on the East Coast at the time of this article’s writing. Compared to the other two companies mentioned above, Framebridge offers the widest selection of products, but they come at a higher cost. Rest assured: the quality of their frames are top notch. The online experience might be a little overwhelming for some, but we really love that you can see their frames in real life if you have a store near you. Since there were a ton of products to choose from, we decided to order a 10x12 frame straight from their Gift Shop collection. It arrived within seven business days and we’re satisfied with what we ordered.
Pros:
Largest selection of frames among top three picks
Option to shop in person
Can add a printed gift note with order
Cons:
Online experience is slightly overwhelming
Other Companies We Loved
Another company worth mentioning is Mixtiles. While their products aren’t exactly frames, they offer a lightweight alternative (made with medium density fiberboard — no glass or nails) and we think it’s a solid product overall. Mixtiles work particularly well for renters, as you don’t need to add any holes in the walls to hang their products. You have the option of adding a classic frame border or a wide frame border to each tile, with three color options and a variety of sizes. The smaller sizes come at a really low cost compared to most online framing companies, but if you’re looking at their larger sizes, Mixtiles’ prices are comparable to the three companies listed above. The website experience was pretty straightforward, and you can purchase photo books as gifts too! We ordered a black 8x11 Classic Frame, which arrived within six business days. Although when comparing it to the three frames we ordered from Frameology, Keepsake, and Framebridge, Mixtiles’ product definitely feels less durable and more flimsy than the others (but we anticipated this so it didn’t come as a surprise).
Pros:
Extremely affordable gifts
Lightweight products that leave no marks on walls
Can include a gift note
Cons:
Smaller selection of “frames”
Product is not as durable as the other companies we tested out
You’re prompted to enter your contact information before shopping any products
Other Frame Companies
As mentioned earlier, we tested out a total of eight frame companies to see which earned a spot on the list of best online framing companies. We placed an order for some, while others didn’t even make it past the checkout process due to the user experience. Here are the other four companies we tried and our thoughts on each:
Artifact Uprising offers custom photo frames, photo books, calendars, and more. Our order arrived in a week and the finished product turned out nicely. While we thought the website layout was much more straightforward than the other companies listed below, it wasn’t as easy to navigate compared to our top three picks listed above, and their frame selection is fairly limited. There are also very limited customization options, so it didn’t quite make the cut for our list of favorites.
Frame It Easy has competitively low prices, but ironically their website isn’t the easiest to navigate. There’s a lot going on (which ultimately led to decision fatigue) so it wouldn’t be our first pick for a seamless shopping experience. For full transparency, we didn’t end up placing an order after browsing on their website.
Canvaspop’s website was the most difficult to navigate among the eight companies we tested out. It seems a little odd that you have to dig around for a full list of products and their prices aren’t clearly listed on their site. As a result, we didn’t end up ordering anything from Canvaspop.
PictureFrames seemed like an affordable option at first, but shopping with them was our least favorable experience among the six online framing companies we ordered from. Our order took almost two weeks to arrive, plus the frame we ordered came damaged and the customer service team did little to resolve the issue, so we would not recommend this service when shopping for customized photo frames.
